Snowmobiling has been, and still is, a male-dominated sport, but the number of female backcountry riders is rising each year. Women have been thought of as not strong enough to whip the big machines around, and although the thought of riding in the backcountry in the deep white stuff may seem magical to some women, it can also be quite terrifying at first. However, let me be the first to tell you that you too can learn the basic riding techniques that will help you master the art of riding a snowmobile in the backcountry.
