The Transporter does far more than just keep your rods safe. This is your home base, ground zero and starting point for all that happens once the holes are punched. Featuring 5-rod, 36” storage with rigid tube protection which gives way to spacious side compartments for gear galore, plus top access to an even larger compartment for tip-ups, skimmers, gloves and other gear. Wear it on your back or stow it in your sled.

Editor’s Note: Being from southern Iowa originally, I was never used to seeing snowmobiles, four-wheelers or even trucks on the ice like you do further up north! We WALKED… EVERYWHERE. And we CARRIED… EVERYTHING! This Transporter has been my go-to for years – I’m a gear person, and it’s the only way I’d be able to walk with all my gear! And now that I travel with a sled as well in recent years, I still like to leave the sled in a central spot and then take the Transporter with me to keep it close as I bounce between ice fishing holes. I can’t go without it – I love this thing!!!
One quick possible fix – women don’t have as broad of shoulders as men and these straps are just a bit too wide for my shoulders, so you can just add a strap of some kind to lock the two straps together, if needed. I attached a piece of coated wire to one strap, so once I put the Transporter on, I then simply twist the wire around the other strap so the wire goes across my chest, locking the straps together and then I can walk for long distances without a strap slipping off my shoulder.

So it actually rates even warmer with it in, but I’ve also found it to be perfect without the liner to wear on warmer ice fishing days or cold open water days. I also like switching it up to a different bib color and like the large front pockets and hand wipes featured on this men’s bib! Editor’s Note: Yay, the NEW Stella Jacket!!! I’m just getting out on the ice with this new jacket to really test it out, but am loving it so far as it’s really like an updated version of Striker’s previous Prism design, which was already great! What I appreciate with this that the other women’s jackets don’t offer, is this has the external cargo pockets, which is just so handy. I love that Striker has really stepped up the women’s designs to offer just as much as the men’s gear offers – this jacket is loaded! It’s so warm and functional – you’ll love it! And it’s always great to have more color options available – I love the Veil camo with burgundy accents to match with the burgundy Stella stocking hat! Hey, you might as well look good while you’re out there doing your thing!
For sizing, I typically wear a small in tops and mediums in hoodies and jackets. I find this to be pretty true to size where I could fit in a small or medium, but chose a medium to wear in this jacket to have extra room for under layers and mobility. I suggest the same for you, if you are typically between sizes for clothes, choose the larger size since you’ll want layers underneath a winter item such as this. Editor’s Note: I have been using Big Game Gut Glove field dressing gloves for years, and not only do I love them for protecting my hunting clothing, but also they have definitely saved me (more than once!) from a cut on my hand from my own accidental knife mishandling while field dressing. I love how thick and long these gloves are – so much better than the cheap, throwaway gloves!
Sizing tip – for a woman, I have pretty large, long hands so in women’s gloves I am often a size large and men’s gloves I am often a size medium. These gloves are in men’s sizes so I find them true to fit and use a size medium. See the product gallery photo for sizing measurements, but hope this helps! ~Jen
