Madison Game Calls Deer Grunt Call

Madison Game Calls deer grunt calls are nationally recognized award-winning calls handmade by Rodd Madison of Minnesota. The call ‘as-is’ sounds like a mature buck, which you can use solely as that sound, but it can also be easily adjusted from a mature buck to a doe bleat if you’d like other sound options, as it houses an adjustable o-ring on the tone board. You just remove the insert from the barrel to access the tone board and move the o-ring up to the top two notches for a buck grunt or down to the last notch for a doe bleat. This is a very easy call to use and has produced many trophy class bucks since 2008.

Editor’s Note: Rodd Madison has been a long-time friend of mine, and these grunt calls have been long-time hunting partners of mine. They are amazing. Before Rodd’s calls, I felt like I wasn’t good at calling bucks. I was using the “popular,” “regular” calls from big box stores, and I didn’t even like the sound myself – let alone what bucks would think of it, so I did not have much confidence. The first time I tried one of Rodd’s calls, I was immediately like “whoa!” There really is that big of a sound difference in them – they are deep and truly sound like a mature buck. I went from having no confidence in calling, to calling in bucks all the time and getting opportunities at mature bucks that are very rare to fool. It completely changed my confidence and my hunting game!

Editor’s Note: I have been using Big Game Gut Glove field dressing gloves for years, and not only do I love them for protecting my hunting clothing, but also they have definitely saved me (more than once!) from a cut on my hand from my own accidental knife mishandling while field dressing. I love how thick and long these gloves are – so much better than the cheap, throwaway gloves!
Sizing tip – for a woman, I have pretty large, long hands so in women’s gloves I am often a size large and men’s gloves I am often a size medium. Editor’s Note: I love this scentless lotion for deer hunting, but don’t limit yourself to that! I use this scentless lotion year-round! It’s especially great for wintertime as during ice fishing season, I don’t want a scented lotion for my hands, but I desperately need lotion! I also use it specifically for turkey hunting. While turkeys aren’t affected by scent, I’m wearing the same camo I wear during deer season, so I do not want to expose any of my gear with a smelly lotion. And get this – I use it on my dog! Editor’s Note: Yay, the NEW Stella Jacket!!! I’m just getting out on the ice with this new jacket to really test it out, but am loving it so far as it’s really like an updated version of Striker’s previous Prism design, which was already great! What I appreciate with this that the other women’s jackets don’t offer, is this has the external cargo pockets, which is just so handy. I love that Striker has really stepped up the women’s designs to offer just as much as the men’s gear offers – this jacket is loaded! It’s so warm and functional – you’ll love it! And it’s always great to have more color options available – I love the Veil camo with burgundy accents to match with the burgundy Stella stocking hat! For sizing, I typically wear a small in tops and mediums in hoodies and jackets. I find this to be pretty true to size where I could fit in a small or medium, but chose a medium to wear in this jacket to have extra room for under layers and mobility. I suggest the same for you, if you are typically between sizes for clothes, choose the larger size since you’ll want layers underneath a winter item such as this.
