Founded by outdoorswoman Jessica Bates of Alabama!
Jessica has also been a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Alabama since 2005 and has much experience with professional, salon formula shampoos and conditioners. She knows most products in the outdoor industry that are made for hunters and huntresses, always left her hair dry and brittle. In her professional experience, she knows how much ladies spend at the salon for hair color treatments, and believes the huntress should not settle for hunting products that are not designed to protect your color-treated hair. This was all the motivation she needed to design a new product for hunters that conditions and moisturizes your hair and skin, like top-selling, name-brand salon products.
Editor’s Note: I love this scentless lotion for deer hunting, but don’t limit yourself to that! I use this scentless lotion year-round! It’s especially great for wintertime as during ice fishing season, I don’t want a scented lotion for my hands, but I desperately need lotion! I also use it specifically for turkey hunting. While turkeys aren’t affected by scent, I’m wearing the same camo I wear during deer season, so I do not want to expose any of my gear with a smelly lotion. And get this – I use it on my dog! I have tried several different products to help keep burrs and stickers off my dog while hunting, and THIS is what works the best!!! Before hunting, I rub it between my hands and then run my hands over him to lightly layer it on his fur and tips of his hair. It works perfect, keeping stuff from sticking to him, but also soaking in quickly and not leaving his fur greasy looking! Dog approved! ~Jen
NOTE: THIS IS MEN’S SIZING – SEE ATTACHED SIZE CHART TO COMPARE FOR WOMEN.
Why be forced to choose between the dexterity a glove provides and the warmth of a mitten?! Featuring 300D Shell Material on back of hand, a Hipora® waterproof shell and a closure to hold the mitt back when you need to tie a knot, the Climate Crossover Mitt is the best of both worlds. A glove on the move, a mitten for warmth – the Crossover is what you need, when you need it!
Editor’s Note: These are a great glove to get the best of both worlds with the warmth of a mitt that you can then quickly flip back to use your fingers for tasks, but without being fully exposed to the elements when it’s especially cold out. You can also add a hand warmer to the mitt part for extra warmth. When ice fishing, I carry LOTS of gloves with me so I have what I need and can switch when needed – these are such a great option to have for your ice fishing and winter gear!
I have long, larger hands for a woman, so I typically wear a size large in women’s gloves and a size medium in men’s gloves – these are men’s sizing and I find them true to size as I wear a size medium in them. ~Jen
Big Game Gut Glove “Reusable” Short 12-inch ‘Fish, Fowl & Fur’ Gloves are excellent for skinning and processing big game and small game animals. Clean your fish, waterfowl, turkey and upland game. Fur trappers love them for laying down scent for land trapping and skinning pelts. Taxidermist use them for harsh chemical protection. Multi-use gloves for just about any thing you can think of!
These 12-inch gloves provide the same super grip hand finish made famous by Big Game Gut Glove’s 26-inch field dressing gloves, and are made from the same high-quality nitrile rubber. Because of the tough material these gloves are made of, they are great for messy jobs or jobs that require submersion of your hands into potentially dangerous or noxious chemicals or liquids.
Wash and wear over and over!
Available sizes in XSmall to Medium to fit youth and women!
If you’d like to order other sizes, contact Jen by email at jen@adventuressmagazine.com or call 515-205-6514.
Two gloves are included in the packaging: a left and a right glove.
Refer to product gallery photo for sizing information.
Editor’s Note: I have been using Big Game Gut Glove for years, and I love these short gloves for skinning deer and field dressing turkeys. I have also used them for trapping and many miscellaneous uses. They are thick so I can be confident in my cutting, as my hands are much more protected than if wearing cheap, disposable gloves for if I do happen to have a wrong swipe of the knife.
Sizing tip – for a woman, I have pretty large, long hands so in women’s gloves I am often a size large and men’s gloves I am often a size medium. These gloves are in men’s sizes so I find them true to fit and use a size medium. See the product gallery photo for sizing measurements, but hope this helps! ~Jen
From ice fishing adventures to casual winter jaunts, this stylish cable knit design is perfect for any cold-weather occasion. Faux fur pom and decorative logo patch make the Women’s Stella Hat a trendy option to pair with your Women’s Stella Suit.
Features:
Get more of the Stella line! Match with the Striker Women’s Stella Jacket, Striker Women’s Stella Bibs, Striker Women’s Stella Glove!
Editor’s Note: This is not a super heavy stocking hat, so I don’t think it’s a great fit for your coldest extreme days on the ice, but with being lighter weight, it is great for when you’re on the move (so you don’t overheat, heavy-weight hats get hot fast), for typical winter days or for wearing it inside (ice hut, shanty, cabin, home). But it has an inner band of fleece so it still has extra warmth and protection for your ears. Let’s not forget to give it style points as well! ~Jen

Handmade and designed with the active outdoors woman in mind! The Slim Fit design is to keep you warm and cozy with a snug fit, ensuring your gaiter will stay in place while you move around in the outdoors.
Each neck gaiter is created with luxury fleece, which is machine washable and dryable. Handmade in Minnesota in a smoke-free, dog-friendly home.
You ask what is different of luxury fleece vs. regular fleece? Luxury fleece is thicker, softer and more durable. It will hold up and not pill like regular fleece that is commonly used to make tie blankets.
Measurements: Approx. 12 inches tall X 11 inches wide.
If you’re interested in seeing how this gaiter fits, head over to @grandmaskills on Instagram and watch the IG TV video on “How to wear and style your gaiter”.

Are you looking for a simple, chunky headband that’s the perfect addition to your hunting accessories? Look no further!
Grandma Skills headbands are designed to keep your ears warm while being able to style your hair up or down when you’re in the outdoors. They are made out of soft, chunky yarn with a popcorn-style stitch for texture. Each headband is made to fit your head perfectly, so it may be snug the first or second time you wear it. They will stretch to fit the size of your head, so we do not recommend sharing them with others, as they may stretch further than you’d like.
Size: approx. 4 inches tall x 9 inches wide when laying flat.
Made to fit the average sized women’s head (22-inch circumference).
Washing: Hand wash only when absolutely necessary with lukewarm water and lay flat to dry.
100% acrylic yarn was used to make this product. (Items in Grandma Skills’ shop may come in to contact with wool and wool blends, if you have a wool allergy.)
